ABSTRACT

Small   scale   enterprises     are   vehicle   of  national     growth   and   development.     They   contribute immensely    to the  economy  by creation  of employment   of indigenous    technology    and contribute substantially     to  the  gross   domestic   product   of  the  country.    The  motive    of  this   project  is   to highlight     and   evaluate    the   accounting    challenges    witnessed     by   small    and   medium    scale enterprises.    Although  small  and medium  scale  enterprises   play  vital  role  in the economy  but are still constrained  by problems  such  as shortage  of raw materials,   liquidity  crisis  etc.  To effectively carry  out  this  study,   primary   and  secondary   data  were  used  to  analyze   it  and  chi-square;    a statistical    tool   was  further  used  to analyze   and  interpret  data  gotten  from  the  questionnaires.     It was  discovered   from  our  analysis    that  accounting    analysis  have  no  positive    relationship    with small  and medium  scale   enterprises   failure   but  more  effects   on the  part  of there  enterprises   to conduct  accounting  analysis   could  mean  greater  opportunity   for them to survive   or succeed.   The researcher  is of the opinion   that seminars  and workshops   should be organized   by both the federal and state  government  from time  to time  to educate  them so as to avoid  the problem   of accounting and other problems   facing  small  and medium  scale  industrialists.
