ABSTRACT
This work is provided on the appropriate techniques used to
access the effectives Of product. To actualize this goal a survey of Unilever
one of the soap manufacturing firm in Nigeria was undertaken. It centers on the
application of statistical qualit.y control in soap production to ensure that
the quality soap produced roes not deviate from the set standard. A practica.l
observation of the company product (Eva classic and kitchen bar soap) and the
weight were recorded. The method used involves daily sampling and measurement
of product for about days later the products were tested and check their
conformity with specificatioi limits using the control chart. The researcher
made use of X chart and R chart in ie analyzing to investigate the process
average weight and it was found out that th soap was under control as non if
product fell out of the specification lini it. l-lowc-vcr through business
process reengineering the company has managed to maintain its competitive
advantage over even large firms and markets. The quality prcesses at Unilever
Aba could be improved by introducing a great variety of decision making skilled
allow both management and employees to take a greater deal of' inti'cst in the
inner-functioning the organization. The recommendation is made basc over the
