Abstract
This study
explored improving creativity and innovative skills among head-teachers' in the
southeast primary school education system for enhanced administrative
performances. To guide the study, four objectives, four research questions were
developed. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. The population
comprised of 150 teachers consisting of15 teachers, and 10 head-teachers ’from
the schools respectively. No sample was done because the population was
manageable. A questionnaire titled, "Improving Principals ’ Creativity and
Innovative Skills Questionnaire (IPCISQ) was used to collect data for this
study. The instrument was validated and reliability established at 0.81 using
Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMC). Mean and standard
deviation were used to answer the research question. The findings revealed
among others that improved creativity and innovation skills ofthe headteachers
can enhance them to becoming autonomous, introverted, open to new things,
self-accepting, self-confident, self-driven, impulsive open-minded, tolerant
tofrustration, highly creative andfilled with the warmth ofstudents and
teachers. Based on the findings, the study recommended among others that
head-teachers should be motivated by adequate reward and recognition, training,
