ABSTRACT

Job dissatisfaction can affect theperformance ofemployees as their level ofcommitment could be deliberately reduced andsince employees are the engine room ofan organization, this could affect the overallperformance andproductivity ofthe organization. The main objective ofthis study is to examine the impact ofjob satisfaction on employees'performance, using the Union Bank Pic, Umuahia as a case study. For the above cause, data -was collected from both primary and secondary sources. Questionnaires were distributed to the respondents and returned successfully which was used as the basesfor the research analysis. Ordinary least square regression was the statistical tool used in analysing the data. Also, personal interviews andgeneral observationswere part ofthe source ofinformationforthisstudy. The researchfindingsrevealedthatthere is a linear relationship betweenjob satisfaction (nature ofjob, job reward andjob security) and employees performance proxy which is employees morale. This research concluded on the note that employees are dissatisfied with the working conditions ofthe organization, this is evident in their responses. Itwasrecommendedthat the management ofthe company shouldprovide goodworking conditionsfor its employees, so as to boost their morale which will in turn boost the overall performance andproductivity ofthe organization.
