ABSTRACT
The
purpose ofthe study was to investigate the availability and utilization
oflibrary's ICT facilities by undergraduates of Rhema University, Aba. The
study adopted a descriptive survey, research design. Purposive sampling
technique was used in carrying out the study. A total number of two hundred
(200) respondents were used as sample for the study. The questionnaire was used
as instrumentfor data collection. Two hundred (200) copies of the questionnaire
were distributed to the undergraduate students in the university. One hundred
and ninety-four (194) were returned representing 96.5% return rate. Data
collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics ofmean scores with the use
ofStatistical Packagefor Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20. The studyfound that
Rehma University Library makes available varieties ofICTfacilitiesforresearch
to a high extent, undergraduate students ofRehma University strongly agreed
that ICTfacilities benefits them, that they also agreed that they utilize these
facilities to a high extent. It was revealed thatsome ofthe problems militating
against the use ofavailable ICTfacilities by undergraduate students were:
unawareness of the availability of ICT facilities, inadequate guide on how to
use ICTfacilities, poor internet connection, inadequate ICT facilities,
epileptic power supply, non-conducive atmosphere in the library, frequent
breakdown ofICTfacilities, virus attack, as well as inadequate trained
personnel. Based on thesefindings, the study recommended thatRehma University
should improve upon its budgetary allocation to the library in terms of
procuring more ICT facilities to aid undergraduate studentsresearch and
othersrecommendations
