ABSTRACT
The Trypanosomiases comprise
complex diseases of man, domestic animals, e and fauna and caused by flagellate
haemoprotozoan parasite of the g nus Trypanosoma. American trypanosomiasis
occurs mainly in South and Central America and the Southernmost part of USA
where the human infection Chagas disease) is caused by Trypanosoma cruzi and
transmitted by the ntamination of the faeces of triatomid (assassin) bugs while
the disease in animals originated from T. v/vax, T. americana and T. evansi -
transmi -ed mechanically by bitting flies. The African trypanosomiases (AT)
