Effect of Sustainable Development Projects of Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (TEPNL) on Rural Livelihoods in Rivers State, Nigeria:- Abali, Innocent
ABSTRACT
The study was on the effect of
sustainable development projects of Total Exploration and Production Nigeria
Limited (TEPNL) on rural livelihood activities in Rivers State, Nigeria. The
specific objectives were to: describe the socio-economic characteristics of the
respondents, identify sustainable development projects executed by TEPNL, and
identify the livelihoods of the host communities in the study area. Others were
to: ascertain the level of participation of the respondents in the sustainable
development projects, assess the effect ofTEPNL sustainable development
projects on the wellbeing of the recipients and identify inhibiting factors to
effective execution of TEPNL projects. Primary and secondary data were used to
elicit information necessary for the study. The primary data for the study were
obtained using structured questionnaire and responses recorded from the
respondents during the focus group discussion. The respondents were host community
members of TEPNL.
