ABSTRACT

 Maize was replaced with palm kernel meal (P1KM) at various levels, except in diets 1 (control) and diets 6 (100% replacement) were PK.M replace maize completely siipplemcnled palm kernel oil (PKM) and cnzynic was evaluated. The experiment was divided mb six treatment diets with each treatment contain pkm supplanted with pko and roxazyine enzyme (R-G) with exception of control which is diet I The treatment diets were formulated in 0, 20, 40, GO and I 00 percent and the design of the experiment was a completely randomized design. In this experiment the final weight of birds fed diets 3 and 6 were significantly higher than others. The trend in the weight gain showed that inconsistent with the exception of diet 2 (17.28) ± 0.19). and diets 2 6 contaiPing P1KM of the diets was inconsistent but diet I (control) was helter thaji that of diets 2 to 6 (20 — 100% replacement) and this could be as a result of fibre present iii diet 2 -6. There was no significantly dillcrcnt (p>O.OS) in percentage mortality of the birds. There was inconsistency in the values of cut parts of turkeys fed the treatment diets as the level of replacement increase with the exception diets 5 (80% replacement) and the prime cut like drum stick and (lie breast of turkeys fed diets (2-5) were respetf'vely significantly greater (p0.05) in Cp digestibility of diet I and 3 8 1.38 and 82.46). However, there was no significant difference in the digestibility of ether extract of turkey fed diets 1,3,4,5 and 6. The NFE digestibi!ity ol turkey on diet I was significantly (P>O.05) higher than that of diet I ,3,4,5 and 6 respectively this effect may be the attribution of the fat that maize CUO is Ii ighly hydrolysable. The positive and negative correlation that cxistc(1 in the breast and drum slick, wings and back of si(ive n ((cu and souc organ option reported that PKM can replace niaizc up to I 00perccnl with P1(C) and R-G supplementation in turkeys diets and good result would be achieved with maximization of profit making.
