ABSTRACT

Field experiment was conducted in the 1998 cropping season(June to October) Umudike,to study the effect of aowirt' dte ind ni4 roen ferti1ztion On. Treatmeits consisted of two soing tes (June anci July) and three itrogn levels (3, O nd 1cfrOk N/ha), Fro the re*ultr-, pod nd seed yields nd coonente of yield were significantly reduced with dely in soil ferry June to July. Nitrogen fertilizer apoliction in'reased the ubr of iods/pint, pod length, pod wetht and pod yield hut hd no significant effect n seed yield. The tplicstios of the findings re disused.
