A Study Of The Traffic Intensity At Eco Bank, Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture, Umudike (Mouau) Branch:- Ako Stella C
ABSTRACT
The study· examined the queuing problem at
Ecobank Umudike Branch in order to determine the queuing system that will help
Ecobank reduce the waiting time of customers and improve service delivery. The
data for this study was collected from a primary source using observation
method. The single and multi sever queuing systems were employed in the data
analysis. The study revealed that ATMs was busy 18% of the time based on the
multi server queuing model. The study also revealed that the server was busy
92% of the time based on the single server queuing model. However in order to
strike a balance between the cost incurred by the bank and the customers, it
was recommended that the management of Ecobank, Michael Okpara University of
Agriculture Umudike Branch, should encourage the multi server queuing system.
This is because in 18% working time the multi server queuing ; system would
achieve what the single server queuing system would have done in 92% working
time. In other· words, the multi server queuing system covers more jobs in
fewer days. This in economic terms implies more money
