Water Quality Analysis Of The Anyama River Umuahia, Abia State

ABSTRACT

The physico-chemical analysis of the surface water of the Anyama river was carried out for a period of 3 months (1^st April – 30^th June, 1999). This project was to ascertain the level of pollution of that river, it’s sources and to study the various contributions made by these sources (agricultural, industrial domestic and land air pollutant). The analysis showed that the river is unpolluted going going by the international standards for polluted rivers. It is now necessary to take adequate environmental measures to prevent changes in certain physico-chemical properties which will lead to the pollution of the river.
