Abstract

 The study was on survey of Information and Communication Technology Resources for Information DisseminationatNational Root Crops Research Institute, Umudike Abia State. The descriptive survey research designwas adoptedforthe study. Datawas collectedthrough the use ofquestionnaire; asample of102 adult users were usedfor the study; descriptive statistical tools mean and standard deviation were usedfor data analysis. Findings revealed that Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), audio and video and Electronic databases resources were not available andso not used in dissemination ofinformation in the library ofNRCRI Umudike Abia State. Challenges include epileptic power supply, none availability of online databases, no Internet connectivity, lack of appropriate technical skills, no skilled ICT staff lack. Based on the findings it was recommended that the librarymanagementshouldprovide: Networkedcomputers withfastInternet connectivity and wide bandwidth; Online database in the libraryforpatrons; Steady electricity; Recruitment ofcompetent ICTstaffBe organizingformal trainingandretrainingin ICTandInternet useforlibrarystaff.
