Abstract
The paper examines the role of library in the promotion of effective education in Nigeria. It particularly concentrates 011 the role of library in promoting peace and security with special consideration of its effect on the child, adolescent and the adult. It also considers the consequences of lack of adequate education on the state of peace and security and suggests possible solutions through the promotion of library education and appropriate facilities
