Abstract

This paper addresses the issue ofinformation sharing among agricultural extension officers with a view of accessing the role performed by them in reaching out to the rural farmers. It takes into consideration the heavy reliance ofthe society on agriculture and the emphasis on meeting the growing food requirements ofthe increasing population and information as a major driving force for agricultural development. It further identifies the roles agricultural extension officers play, the challenges they face and the roles they ought to play in order to maintain quality service delivery in our agricultural system. The paper recommends, among others, that agricultural extension officers should be abreast with up-to-date agricultural information.
