ABSTRACT
Academic achievement ofadolescents in Nigeria has been a source ofworry and concern visa ms t efuture ofEducation in Nigeriq. West A frican Examination Council (2015) released C West African School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with a report that me/ 0% failed which according to them means that they did not make five credits in Mathematics and English Language inclusive. Out ofthe examinations, onlv 616. 370 scored Jive credits which is a pass rate of38.68%. The trend is not different in the last 4 years. The I->4 Qdo/e "('S 3L25% 20,4- 3657% in 20H 38.81%, in 2012. 29.17%, in 2011 and ■ o in 2010. The trend does not have a consistent pattern ofincrease or decrease.
