ABSTRACT

 This research was undertaken to ascertain the effect of information and communication technology on accounting process ofNigeria financial institution (a case study offirst bank Nigeria pic, Umuahia). At the successful conclusions ofthe study the following recommendations were made. There should be regular supply ofpower by the power holding for faster and easy work. Competence and qualified personnel should be employed for effective and efficient ofwork and to win the interest oftheir customers. This study evaluates the perceptions of banking customers in Umuahia with respect to the quality of banking services in adoption of information technology in banks and on the extend to which customers and managers believes the adoption of information technology in banks exerting an effect on banking services and constraints on application ofICT in the banks and possible solutions to the constraints. There are many banks in Umuahia but due to time factor we limited it to two First Bank Nig. Pic in Umuahia, the two selected banks are the Head Quarters of First Bank Nig. Pic along Government Road in Umuahia town and their branch in Umudike inside Michael Okpara university of Agriculture Umudike along Ikot-ekpene Road questionnaires are used for data collection and some information from 5years annual report from 2012 - 2016. In some of the major findings were that the adoption of information and communication technology in banks has improved customers service, facilitate accurate records, ensures convenient business hours, prompt, and efficiency of services, and
