ABSTRACT

The study examined teachers attributes as correlates o students academic achievement in Biology in Umuahia North Iocal Government Area. Abia State. The purpose of this study was to find eut teachers attributes that influence students' academic achievement in Bioi y. The stud adopted a descriptive sui-vev design. The stratified random sanft ing technjque was used to select 2')3 students out of 273 SS2 student. ofienig Biology in the 1 5 public senior secondary schi>ois in Uninahia North L. \. The study were guided by three research questions and three null hvpothes tested at f).05 level of significance .:\ modified liker-type rating scale titled Te icher attributes and students academic achievement FASAAQ) was used for dta collected. The data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation while lie hypotheses were tested using t-tes. Based on the results, some ieachers attribes such as teacher experience. gender communication skills were found to infl :ence students' academic achievemeni. Based on the indings. it was recommended that the seminars workshops should be organized fdr the teachers.
