ABSTRACT

I am unable to appropriately define hunger. I know how it feels and that everyone is able to detect that feeling and can consequently say I am hungry. Most definitions of hunger relate to its quantification for scientific studies. For instance, according to Hunger Task Force (2003), hunger is a condition in which people lack the basic food intake to provide them with the energy and nutrient for fully productive lives. I also know that the consequences of hunger can be devastating. For instance, a whole assembly of people can be killed with hunger (Exodus 16:3 KJV) while a people can be burnt with hunger (Isaiah 49:10 KJV) or be consumed with hunger (Ezekiel, 34:29 KJV).
