Reviving Microform Availability And Use In Nigerian Academic Libraries: An Advocacy:- Ogbonna I.M

ABSTRACT .

 This paper is an advocacy for microform availability and use in academic libraries in Nigeria. It highlights the continued relevance of microforms in today's computerized libraries. Some related literatures were reviewed to further buttress the continued need for microform resources in spite of computer capabilities in library operations. The paper recommends active acquisition and use of microforms in academic libraries in Nigeria. It further recommends the application of microform and computer technologies in academic libraries using an integrated approach and also calls for the establishment of microfilm publishing and vending businesses in Nigeria to enhance microform availability. The paper concludes by observing that the future of microform technology is indeed bright in library application.
