ABSTRACT
Oil bean (Pentaclethra macrophylla) is widely grown by small scale farmers and is staple food for millions of people living in the humid and subhumid regions of tropical Africa. Unfortunately protein foods are in short supply and therefore not within the reach of low-income households in Nigeria. This insufficient intake of protein can result to anemia, which will also reflect on the hematological parameters. So diet plays a very important role in the prevention of anemia.
