ABSTRACT
Medicinal plant is any plant that, in one or more of its organs, contains substances that can be used for therapeutic purposes or which are precursors for chemo pharmaceutical semi synthesis (WHO, 1996). Such plant have such as leaves, roots, rhizomes, stems barks, flowers fruits, grains or seeds, used in the control or treatment of a disease condition. It also contains chemical components that are medically active. Medicinal plants are also plants with active ingredients, rich in curative properties that can be used in manufacturing of drugs and are used alone or combined with other plants because of their biologically active compound (Ogbonna et al., 2018a). Presently there is a revival of interest in the use of medicinal plant in developing countries due to the fact that herbal medicine are safe with little or no adverse effect compared with synthetic drugs.
