ABSTRACT

This research work was carried out to investigate the

Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) as a Deposit

Insurer and Liciuiclator; Challenges arid Prospects.

Notwithstanding the challenges facing the corporation,

the corporation has been able to achieve a lot in protecting

depositors as well as promoting a safe, sound and stable

banking system in Nigeria. This is with the objective of

reviewing the operations situation of banks with a view to

Out of the 120 questionnaire eministered to the

various departments of two banks, 100 'questionnaires were

successfully complete and retui-ned. The analytical tool used,
