ABSTRACT
The study analyses the effect of manufacturing sector on economic growth in Nigeria from 1985- 2017. The mean objective of the study is to evaluate the effects of manufacturing sector output and capacity utilization output on gross domestic output of the economy. The study employ secondary data sourced from CBN Statistical Bulletin. The result reviewed that there is stationality among the variables, there is co-integration among the variables. The manufacturing sector output and capacity utilization output exerts a positive relationship with a gross domestic product but MSO is not significant while MANCAP has significant impact on GDP. The research therefore recommends that government as a matter of urgency should improve on the infrastructural provision which is a prerequisite to productive activity in both developed and developing countries as it is impossible to embark on production in the absence of regular power supply, good network roads, security of life and property
