Management Information System As A Veritable Tool For Efficient Accounting Information System

ABSTRACT

This research work examined 'management information system as a veritable tool for efficient accounting system, with particuitor reference to Nigerian National Petroleum Company in Portharcourt, River State. The study examined the extent in which management information system can be applied in accounting information System. Finding and analysing the meaning of Management information system and accounting information system. This research work also examined how Management Information System enhances efficient Accounting Information System in an organisation. The data was collected through primary source and secondary source. The primary was through questionnaire and the secondary was through textbooks, journals, and internet data. In the questionnaire, simple percentage was used and the hypothesis was tested through ANOVA. From the analysis the finding showed that Management information system is a veritable tool for efficient accounting information system in an organisation. It was also recommended that manager should adopt updated and computer approach in its application of accounting information system through management information system.
