Knowledge Sharing Practices Among Medical Professionals In Selected Hospitals In Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria:- Jude-iwuoha, Adaeze U.

Abstract

 Using descriptive survey method, the study examined knowledge sharing among medical professionals in selected Hospitals in Enugu State, Nigeria. A total population of 1,793 respondents covering the medical professionals in five selected government-owned hospitals was used for the study with a sample sze of J2$ which was purposively selected for the study. A total of 298 copies of rating scale were returned OU/ of which only 262 were found to be valid representing 80.6%. Data was analrsed usmg descrtpltve statwics of frequency counts, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The study showed that medical professionals share knowledge through verbal discussion means as the job s ongoing, staff meetings, seminars/workshops The findings of the study also revealed that medical doctors share knowledge to help others, spread new discoveries, solve problems, learn from others. enlighten others and maintain reciprocity in relationships. However. the extent of knowledge sharing among them is high at an average mean of 2.97. The study thus. recommended that the hospital management should moti,·att and encourage mentorship and knowledge sharing among medical professionals.
