Intestinal Parasites Among Undergraduate students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike", Abia State, Nigeria :- Alaubi Osita P.

Abstract
A total of 220 undergraduate students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike comprising of 150 males and 70 females, aged 20-31 years had their faecal samples examined for the presence of intestinal parasites using wet mount and formol ether concentration techniques with microscopy. Out of this number, 157 (71.25%) were infected. Four parasites mainly Hookworm (54.55%), Ascaris lumbricoides (49.55%), Trichuris trichiura (13.64%), and Entamoeba histolytica (23.64%) were recovered. Gender wise, more males (80.00%) were infected than females (52.83%). Regarding age, the age group 23-25 years had the highest rate of infection (94.23%).
