Influence of Risk Management on the growth of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Abia State;- Okeke, Adaobi M

ABSTRACT

This study assesses the influences of risk management on the growth of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Nigeria, using Abia States as case study. Mean scores and standard deviation were used to present and analyze the primary data obtained via questionnaires. Chi-square was used to test the hypothesis. The result shows that Small and Medium Scale Enterprises are significantly influences by risk management. Predominant Small Business Enterprises are lacking in good risk management strategies and insurance cover which is why their growth problem still subsists. The major recommendation is that Capacity building and sensitization programmes for all registered Small and Medium Scale Enterprises should be put in place by government to train them on the necessity for identifying their risks and how to categorize them and take adequate insurance cover.
