Influence Of Library User Education On Students' Perception Of Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture, Umudike Library

ABSTRACT

The study is a pilot study which investigated the Influence of Library User Education on the perception of second year students of College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike Library. The purpose of the study was to determine the influence of Library User Education on the perception of MOUA U Library by the second year students of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering and Engineering Technology (CEET) Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. Furthermore, the study had six (6) objectives and six (6) research questions. The Population of the study was made up of270 students of second year students of College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, Sample size of 161 was selected for the study using simple random sampling technique. The instrument of data collection was a questionnaire titled Influence of Library User Education on Students' Perception of MOUA U Library Questionnaire (ILUESPQ). Method of data analysis was simple percentage, frequency count and mean. The results obtained from the analysis revealed that library user education in MOUA U has positively influenced the second year students of mechanical engineering's perception of MO UA U library. Thus, recommendations were made to improve the provision of Library User Education to students in MOUA U by Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike Library.
