ABSTRACT

The-study is on Impacts of Small Scale Enterprise on Economic Development of Nigeria. The  research work is geared towards identifying contributions of small scale enterprises on growth and development of Nigeria. The objective of the study is to examine the contributions ofsmall scale business on economic growth and development ofNigeria. The method used in the research work is survey design.The population was 100 using Taro Yamane formula, the sampling size of 80 was gotten. While face and content validity was used for validity of instrument. Pearson Moment correlation was used for reliability coefficient and five point likerl scale for the questionnaire. The method ofdata analysis was Table presentation percentage method while the hypotheses was tested using Chi- square and Z- test. The majorfindings ofthe research work include: Small scale business have significant effect on economic growth and development of Nigeriajx2cai 24.657>x2critical U.071;p<0.05 and insufficientfinance influences performance of small scale business (zcai 3.630>zcrilicai=1.96;p<0.05). However.it was recommended that government should encourage small scale business- as it prompts continuing growth of the economy
