ABSTRACT

The study investigated the impact of inventory management and control on organizational performance. The major. objectives of ·the study are to determine the relationship between inventory management and control strategy on organizational performance, to examine the relationship between inventory management and organizational productivity and to ascertain the challenges of inventory management and control in organization. To achieve the objectives of the study, survey research design was adopted. The researcher adopted primary data in getting the required information. In testing the hypotheses, correlation coefficient was used. The popular ion of the study is made up of 300 respondents while the sample size is made up of 171 after adopting Taro Yamane formula. The findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between inventory management and control strategy on organizational performance. The study also revealed that Inventory management has a significant impact on organizational productivity. It was recommended that Companies should try by all means to adhere to invemory polices made. A situation is a case whereby materials or items are allowed to leave the stores without proper requisition. this shows that the internal control is weak. In order to ensure that the company adheres to inventory policies, under no circumstance should items of inventory be allowed to leave stores without proper requisition.
