ABSTRACT
The study investigated gender and higher education in line with emerging 21st century issues andappointments to managerial or headship positions ofthefemale genderin higher education as well asprovide an inter-disciplinary contextforunderstanding core gender-relatedissues. Itadoptedasurvey research design, and used a 15-item questionnaire tagged: "Questionnaire for Appraising Gender Enrolment, Employment, Appointment in Higher Education and Political Offices” (QAGEEAHEPO) as instrument for data collection. One null hypothesis was tested at 95% confidence interval using ChiSquare statistical analysis technique. The result ofdata analysis reveals that there is a significantgender difference in terms ofenrolment, employment, and appointment to political decision-making positions in the area ofstudy. A redress ofthe unfortunate trendforeconomic, social, andpoliticalsustainability is therefore, recommended.
