Factors Affecting The Supply Of Poultry Products In Abia State

ABSTRACT

This study is on the factors that affect the supply of poultry products in Abia State. A random.sample of 50 poultry farmers were chosen from the study area for' the study. Questionnaire were used for data collection. Data analyses was done using means frequency distribution, percenthges'and regression analyses. The study shows that cost medication can affect the supply of poultry products. Cost of medication, cost of feed, transportation and income were significant factors that affects the supply of poultry products. To increase the supply of poultry products, farmers should • concentrate on planed enterprises (broiler and layers) production. Poultry farmers shou!d result to cheap sources of farm input that. result to lower. cost of production and in turn increase supply of poultry products. Farmers should increase their farm size and encourage proper packaging that could increase prices of poultry products and subsequently influence supply..
