ABSTRACT

The study examined the evaluation of total factor productivity among agribusiness in the state as noted operates in environment characterized by low output, low productivity high interest rate, change in technology, investment, policy reforms, debt effect, population size and education- and human capital development at subsistence level, age of the family, number of employee and education level of enterprise. It is based on the above fact that this study was conducted. The importance of studying evaluation of total factor productivity among micro agribusiness enterprises in the Abia state would help us to examine the existing income levels, but would also enable us to estimate the determinants of output and input of agribusiness enterprises in the state. Data for this were collected using well-structured questionnaire and were also analyzed using multiple regression model, results from the analysis revealed that agribusiness enterprise in. Abia State are mostly business of the male and female (intelligent). The result also revealed that total factor productivity among micro agribusiness enterprises has shown in table (4.1). However, the coefficient estimates of factor influencing total factor productivity variable, of enterprises, education of enterprises, number of employees level and major problems of the total factor productivity. 1n view of this, I therefore recommend that, education level of the enterprises owners should provide infrastructural faci11t1e.s to enable farmer's growth and development.
