Abstract
paper discussed the essence of entrepreneurship skills acquisition for self-reliance among secondaryschoolstudents. One ofthepolicystipulation on education is that the recipients ofeducation atJuniorsecondary school (JSS) and seniorsecondary school (SSS) levels will at the end ofleaving c ]ool be able to develop skills that will equip them to be selfreliant among others. Considering the ^’el ofunemployment and hardships experienced in our nation today thispolicy has not been realized. need to expand the secondary school curriculum and implement adequately the aspects ofthe lcy on skills acquisition will be ofimmense help to solve the problem ofpoverty in the nation. xposure of teachers to workshops, conferences, seminars and release offunds and adequate 1 enumeration were some ofthe recommendations made to encourage the inculcation ofskills that will ,r>akeforself-relianceamongstudents.
