ABSTRACT

The study investigates the Effects of Pay Differential on Productivity on Manufacturing Organization (A Study ofNigerian Breweries Pic, 9th Mile, Enugu State), 96 questionnaires were found usable from the sampled in the selected area understudy. The study used survey design approach to answer research questions posedfor the stucfy. The Chi-square statistical tool was used to test the hypotheses that guided the study. The result obtainedfrom the analysis showed that there existed relationship between pay differential and the productivity of manufacturing organization. The study reveals that pay differential given to workers in an organization has a significant influence on the workers productivity. On the bases ofthese findings, employers are continually challenged to develop pay policies and procedures that will enable them attract, motivate, retain andsatisfy their employees. The researcher therefore suggest that more research should be conducted on the relationship and influence ofrewards on workers performance using many private andpublic organizations which will be a handy tool that could be used to provide solutions to individual conflict that has resultedfrompoorpay differentialsystem.
