Abstract

The project aims at studying, the effects of moisture content on the physical properties of Tctrapleuratctrptcra. The study was carried out at the National soil, water, plant and fertilizer laboratory .Umuahia . The study will involve reducing the moisture content of Tetrapleura tetraptera and determining the physical properties (length, width, breadth) oven drying method @105°c at 1 hr interval. These samples were analyzed to determine the effects of moisture content on the physical properties, AMD, GMD, EMD, SMD, Area, specific surface area, and roundness. As moisture content decreases from Mcl-Mc3, the length, width and breadth of Tetrapleura tetraptera decreased by 10%, 21%, 21% respectively. The average value of AMD, GMD, SMD, EMD, Area, specific surface Area also decreased by 14%, 18%, 40% , 25%, 29%, 30%, and-41% respectively, as moisture content decreased. Sphericity is 0.4, which is not spherical. Angle of repose was determined using metal, glass, wood and plywood. Based on the study, metal and glass materials slides faster therefore, should be used should sliding be necessary for any design consideration on Terapleuratetraptera
