Abstract

This study investigated the effects of jigsaw and debriefing teac mg acjty ofsoilBiology students’ academic achievement on the concept ofwater ho ing cap^ stujy The Non- randomized pre-test, post-test control group design was use or study sample was 162 Senior Secondary I (SSI) biology students ra ^hree Municipality of Akwa Ibom State through simple random samp mg. ment used in research questions were raised and three hypotheses were tested. The in^ index of collecting datawas Biology AchievementTest (BAT). The test ha a ie ia tjiat 0.86 determined using test-retest approach. The results of data ana ysis t|iose taught studentstaught withjigsaw teaching technique had a better achievement ia a strong with debriefing and conventional teaching techniques. Gender waS^njjngS, it is determinant of students' achievement in biology. Based on tie 1 use ofjigsaw recommended among others that, Biology teachers should adopt effective effectson teaching technique in teaching biology concepts in view ofits high faci i a i students’ academic achievement.
