ABSTRACT

The study examine the effect ofwork environment on organizational performance (A study ojDiamond Bank Nig Pic, Umuahia, Abia State). Specifically the study determine the effect of work environment on organizational performance; determine the relationship between work environment and organizational performance; identify factors affecting efficient work environment in Diamond Bank Nig Pic, Umuahia, Abia Stale and examine the environmentalfactors affecting the performance ofthe Bank. . Primary data sourcedfrom distribution ofquestionnaires to staffofDiamondBank Nig Pic, Umuahia, Abia State. A test-re-test was conducted to ensure validity and reliability oj the data. The data were presented 5point likert scale. The hypothesis were tested using simple, correlation coefficient model and Chi-square statistical model. The result reveal that result shows that work environment has positive and significant ejfect on organizational performance Diamond Bank Pic. In addition, there is positive relationship between work environment and organizational performance in Diamond Bank Nig Pic, Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria. The chi-square result shows that Inadequate Power supply, poor management, recognition plan, temperature, nature of job,job stress, office design have significant effect on efficient work environment. More so, states that Technology, Political instability, Monetarypolicy, Competition, Multiple taxation have significant effect on the performance ofthe Bank. It was recommended that the organizations must initiate continuous training programsfor managers, head of units and team leaders on developing a conducive working environment in the organization, in order to achieve the organizational goals and objective since there is a positive relationship between work environment and organizational performance in Diapmond Bank Nig Pic, Umuahia, Abia State.
