ABSTRACT

The study examine the effect of work environment on organizational performance (A study of Diamond Bank Nig Plc, Umuahia. Abia State). Specifically the study determine the effect of work environment on organizational performance; determine the relationship between work environment and organizational performance; identify factors affecting efficient work environment in Diamond Bank Nig Plc, Umuahia, Abia State and examine the environmental factors affecting the performance of the Bank. . PrimW'.)' data sourced from distribution of questionnaires to staff of Diamond Bank Nig Pie.:. Umuahia. Abia State. A test-re-test was conducted to ensure validity and reliability of !he data. The data were presented 5point likert scale. The hypothesis were tested using simple, correlation coefficient model and Chi-square statistical model. The result reveal that result shows that work environment has positive and significant effect on organizational performance Diamond Bank Plc. In addition, there is positive relationship between work environment and organizational performance in Diamond Bunk Nig Pie:, Umuahiu. Abia State. Nigeria. The chi-square result shows that Inadequate Power supply, poor management, recognition plan, temperature, nature of job, job stress, office design have significant effect on efficient work environment. More so, states that Technology, Political instability, Monetary policy, Competition, Multiple taxation have significant effect on the performance of the Bank. It was recommended that the organizations must initiate continuous training programs for managers, head of units and team leaders on developing a conducive working environment in the organization, in order to achieve the organizational goals and objective since there is a positive relationship between work environment and organizational performance in Diapmond Bank Nig Plc, Umuahia, Abia State.
