ABSTRACT

 This study seeks to examine the effect ofquality control management on the performance ofsome selected manufacturingfirms using Tonimas Ltd and Mikko. Plastics Ltd, Aba, Abia State as a case study. Specifically, the study objectives are to identify the extent to which quality control management help in increasing organizational return on investment and determine the effect of quality control management in increasing in customer satisfaction in manufacturingfirms such as Tonimas Ltd and Mikko Plastics Ltd, Aba, Abia State. The study adopted a survey research design. The study population comprised of upper and mid-level staff of both Tonimas Ltd and Mikko Plastics Ltd, Aba, Abia State which in total is 126 staffin which 81 upper and mid-level staff of Tonimas Ltd and 35 upper and mid-level staff of Mikko Plastics Ltd were used. The researcher presented the data in tables using simple percentages to analyze the collected data for quick understanding. In analyzing the data collected using questionnaire, the researcher used descriptive statistics such as simple percentages and table as statistical tools. The hypotheses were tested using chi-square. IBM SPSS statistics computer software was used to run the analysis. From the result of the study, there is positive and significant relationship between quality control management and increasing organizational return on investment which means that quality control management significantly help in increasing organizational return on investment. Therefore the study recommends that continuous quality control management education should be undertaken at all levels, even for those firms that have already acquired a high degree of awareness of the concept. The study therefore concludes that quality control management is imperativefor better organizationalperformance and growth.
