"Effect of Public Relations on Conflict Management in Niger Delta region: A Study of NDDC, Port-Harcourt:- Njoku Chisara C.

ABSTRACT

The study was a research on effect of public relations in conflict management in Niger Delta region. The objectives of the study were; analyze the effect of employee relations on conflict resolution; examine the effect of community relations on conflict resolution; ascertain the effect of government relations on conflict resolution and analyze the relationship between public relation cost and corporate performance. A well-structured questionnaire were used to collect primary data for the study; and were later analyzed using multiple regression. After the analysis, the following findings were made; that the performance of public relations activities has positive significant relationship with conflict management and also corporate responsibility has no significant effect on public relations activities performance. Therefore, based on the research findings the recommendations were made: NDDC should also do more in being more responsible to the providers of capital especially the tax payers and other financial houses and that NOOC should also be more involved in community development and also play an active role in supporting government in developmental programmes.
