EFFECT OF PROFIT PLANNING AND COST CONTROL STRATEGIES ON THE PERFORMANCE OF MANUFACTURING COMPANIES IN NIGERIA (A CASE STUDY OF PATERSON ZOCHONIS NIGERIA PLC )

ABSTRACT

There  are  reported   cases  of  failure  in  manufacturing   companies   due  to  lack  of sound profit  planning  and control.  We critically  ana'yzed   this work with the  use of accounting  and statistical  tools for planning  and control  of profit.  Some knowledge of profit  planning   and  control  and  its careful  application   is helpful  in achieving success  in an organization.'   The knowledge   enabl  es  management   top see the  who, what, where,  why  and how  of profit  planning  and control  who plans,  what  are the fundamentals   of planning.   When  the  planning  done,  why  is is the planning  done that way,  and how  it has been  emulated  are some  of the important  problems  to be  . faced  in this  work.  All these  facts  are part  of profit  planning  and  control.  A case study of this work  is  Paterson  Zochonis  Nigeria  plc .
