Abstract

The study examine the effect oforganizational structure on the performance ofselected deposit banks (A Study of First Bank plcUmuahia Abia Slate). The specific objectives were as, io examine the nature of relationship between organizational structure and performance of deposit money bank to evaluate the effect oforganizational structure on the performance of deposit money bank, to determine the effect of organizational structure on performance of employees of deposit money bank. The study adopted survey research design and the respondents were drawnfrom staffofFirst Bankpic in Abia State. The sample size consist of one hundred and seventeen managerial and non-staff ofFirst Bank pic in Abia Stale. Data collected was done through five point likert scale and was analysed using percentage. The study reveals that the perception of management and non-management staff deposit money banks in Abia State indicate that organization structure has significant and positive effect on the performance ofdeposit money Banks, the perception ofmanagerial and non-managerial staffof deposit money banks in Abia state reveal that organizations structure has significant and positive effect on the performance of deposit money Banks and the perception of managerial and non-managerial staff of deposit money banks in Abia stale reveal that organization structure has significant andpositive effect on the performance ofdeposit money bank. Il was recommended that Organization structure should be decentralized to the greatest extent possible to enhance innovation and increase satisfaction oftheir employees.
