ABSTRACT

This study presents the results of the effects of nickel 11 sulphates on residual splitting tensile strength of modified concrete at varying temperatures. Concrete structural members are dependent composition and characteristics of concrete batch mix as well as heating rate and other environmental conditions. This paper presents the results of concrete cubes tests with respect to variation in residual compressive strength when subjected to temperature. Cement paste were cast, cured in water at ambient temperature in the laboratory and subjected to various temperature regimes before testing. OPC was mixed with Nickel Sulphate at 0, 1,3 and 6 dosages. Consistency of cement paste at varying percentage of NiSCM.bHaO at 0, 1, 3 and 6 dosages was determined, Residual NiSO4at varying proportion of 0, 1, 3 and 6 exposed to 600, 700 and 800°C at ,28th day of cooling was determined.
