ABSTRACT

The aim of this researcher is to ascertain the effect of monetary incentives on workers performance. The essence or purpose is also to investigate the extent ofthe impact ofmonetary incentives as a good motivational tool on workers performance in a society like ours, where the cost ofliving is very high. It also aims to bring to light whether monetary incentive alone is not sufficient to motivate all categories of employee to perform better on the job. Workers are a priceless possession in the achievement oforganizational goals and to ensure that all hands are on deck, they must be motivated, to inspire as one ofthe tools employed by management to motivate on inspired employee in incentive. General data needs to achieve the objectives of the study, descriptive survey research design was adopted questionnaire was used as the major instrument for primary data collection. To broaden the researcher's depth ofknowledge in the study areas the researcher embarked upon review of related literature, with data draw from secondary sources. Data generated in the study waspresented onfrequently tables and analyzed using simple percentage while the hypothesis was three tested. The population ofthe study is three hundred (300) while the sample size is one hundred and seventy one (171)
