Effect Of Employee Related Cost On Organizational Performance (A Study Of Quoted Companies In Nigeria)

ABSTRACT

The study  examined the  effect  of employee    related   cost  on  organizational     performance.     The objectives   of this study  is  to determine     the  effect  of employee   related   cost  on  return on  asset, return  on   capital   employed     and   profit  after  tax.    The  study   employed     simple    regression techniques   using   ordinary least   square   (ols)   regression    method   to  determine  the relationship between  the dependent    and independent    variable.    The  period   covered was ten  years   ranging from 2006-2015     and the data   used  was gotten from  the financial   statement   of I   esrle    foods Nigeria    Limited.   The  study   established     that   retirement     benefit   has  a significant    effect  on organizational    performance     than   salary.    The  results   obtained  from the hypotheses    showed that workers   place  great  value   on the retirement rewards  given   to them  by their employer   than salary.   Hence,   when   these rewards are not  given.   workers tend  to express their   displeasure through     poor   performance   and   non-comm  itmcnt     to   their   job.   Therefore.     this     study recommends     that,   management     should   evaluate    employee  suggestion     scheme    and   use the feedback   from  the   workforce  to  improve  the   organizational     environment     and   fulfill   their needs and skills.
