ABSTRACT

The topic ofthe study is Effect of delegation as a tool for effective management in a manufacturing industry (A study of Pz industry Pic Aba). The main objective of the study is to determine the effect of delegation as a tool for effective management in a manufacturing industry. While the specific objectives are to determine tire dangers associated when non-delegation of authority is prevalent in the work place, to determine the most effective mean of delegation which will not have adverse effect in the manufacturing industry and lastly to determine the effect of delegation of authority and responsibility on the overall performance of workers in a manufacturing industry. Survey method of research design was adopted. The population of tire study is 200 junior staff, senior staff and managerial staff and the sample size is 133. The research used was Taro Yammeris formular to determine the sample size. Validity was used by the researchers to evaluate test while reliability was used to measure instrument to provide similar or identical result. The questionnaire pattern is Likert pattern and method of data analysis used by the researcher is z-test and chi-square. The result from the findings indicates that the danger associated when non-delegation of authority is prevalent has significant effect in the work place. The most effective means of delegation has a positive effect on the manufacturing industry. Delegation and responsibility has effect on the overall performance of workers in the manufacturing industry and delegation as a tool for effective management affect manufacturing industry. Finally, the key recommendation is that managers should accept delegation as a tool for effective management because it boost the productivity of manufacturing industry and help in building more effective and efficient future managers
