Effect of animal manure on the hydraulic conductivity of different soil sample:- ezeh joseph

ABSTRACT

A laboratory experience was conducted and determined the soil hydraulic conductivity before and after poultry manure amendment of the soil. Different textural soil samples were collected from three different sources within Umudike. The result ofthe statistical analysis shows that there were significant different in the moisture content ofthe three oil classes. There was reduction in the bulk density ofthe soil after the organic amendment, resulting in slight increase in the porosity ofthe soils after the organic amendment. Hydraulic conductivity increased with increasing soil amendment with poultry manure application, particularly with Clay Loam Soil where the increases were significant. In general application of poultry manure to Sandy Clay Loam gave a higher hydraulic conductivity values than Clay Loam Soil
