ABSTRACT
Mass imbalance in a system damages the machine, reduces the life span and increases failure of the machine. In this research, Solidworks software was used to design and analyze the machine. Locally sourced materials such as shaft, pulley, bearing, mass block, control box, electric motor, angle iron, etc were used in the fabrication of the machine. The fabrication processes employed include welding, cutting, drilling, fastening and spraying. Performance evaluation test conducted shows that the distance and angle of the mass block from a reference point must be taken into consideration in order to balance the machine. The results obtained show that in addition to less noise and vibration of the system, both the centrifugal force value and that of the couple are zero indicating that the system is statically and dynamically balanced.
