ABSTRACT

As the sands of the financial landscape continue to shift, treasurers must continue to manage risk and liquidity, and maximize financial and operational efficiency within this changing environment. A strong relationship between the treasurer and his banks has never been more important, both to make sense of this often confusing picture, and to ascertain the best way of achieving the company's financial objectives. The principal aim of this study is to develop an integrated computer-based treasury management system, covering several key markets such as foreign exchange, money, equity, and their related derivatives instruments. Therefore, Treasury Management System is required to help the treasury in fast tracking planning, organizing, controlling cash and borrowing as to optimize interest, currency flows and minimize the cost of doing business. However, most of this tools and systems are not indigenous resulting in high overhead cost of buying, using, maintaining, and staff training. Consequently, the design of a treasury management system is a very welcomed development. This new system, in addition to being indigenous, is easy to use, and cheaper than foreign ones. The programming language used is Visual Basic 6.0 and the platform used is Microsoft Access (A database management System).
